This BIT course is a PRE-REQUISTE in becoming in NRA Basic Pistol Instructor.
If you ALREADY COMPLETED the BIT course in the last 2 years, you do not have to come to this class (MUST HAVE PROOF of BIT COMPLETION)
At the end of this course you will posses the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to Organize & Conduct NRA Basic Firearms Training Courses.

This is the second PRE-REQUISITE to become an NRA Pistol Instructor.
(If you completed this course, you DO NOT need to attend on this date: MUST provide PROOF: Certificate of Completion for the NRA Basic Pistol Course)
Attend March 7th for the BIT course if you have not completed it in the past 2 years, and attend Sunday, March 9th for the NRA Pistol Instructor Course.

Pistol Knowledge & Safe Gun Handling
- teach parts & operations of revolvers & semi-automatic pistols according to NRA lesson plans
- teach the NRA fundamental rules of safe-gun handling
- conduct a safe pistol handling exercise
Lesson III:
Teaching Pistol Lesson II: Ammunition Knowledge & the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting
•teach ammunition components, types, and the firing sequence of a cartridge according to NRA lesson plans.
•Effectively teach ammunition identification, storage, and malfunctions according to NRA lesson plans.
•Explain the importance of determining eye dominance in beginning pistol shooters, and conduct an eye dominance exercise.
•Effectively teach the five fundamentals of pistol shooting according to NRA lesson plans.

I have Over 25 years of experience in the criminal justice field. I'm a former Staff Sargent, U.S Marine (Infantry and Embassy Duty) and Police Officer!
I ran a Criminal Justice Program for a private college and helped hundreds of individuals to get into Law Enforcement, Security, Corrections, and other public safety careers.
I was a former police officer and have real world street experience. I loved going out on patrol every day, making arrest, doing vehicle stops, investigations, drug testing, and perfecting my officer safety tactics and techniques.

What are the Requirements to Attend the NRA Pistol Instructor Course?
Must have not been CONVICTED of ANY felonies, Domestic Violence Convictions, CURRENT Restraining Orders, must be minimum a U.S Resident (green card), or be Prohibited from legally purchasing a firearm in the U.S
Where will the NRA Pistol Instructor Course take place at?
Venue: At Public Safety Institute's training office

Where will the live-fire training and live-fire qualification take place?
You will be advised on the time and date of the range qualification. It will be during day 2 or 3.
There is a cost from $50-$75 for the range fee payable at the range.

What is the required gear list for the classroom?
Pen, pencil, highlighter, and a notebook. 2 or 3 inch binder.
Wear appropriate attire, NO sandals or open toed shoes, NO shorts, NO Sweatpants.
What is the required gear list for the shooting range?
You are not required to own a pistol to attend this program. You may rent a pistol for use and qualification at the shooting range.
Pistols and revolvers will be provided in the classroom at no charge for practical application.
Take about 200 rounds for practice and qualification, a pistol registered under your name, eye & ear protection. You can also rent eye a & ear protection at the range.
If you do not own a firearm, you may rent one at the range. You may also buy the required ammunition at the range.
What happens if I can not attend?
You can reschedule for the next NRA Instructor course.

All of our classes/packages, and courses are final, no cancellations allowed, and no refunds issued once enrolled in any course(s), class(es), or any of our training programs. If you can not attend on your scheduled date, you can attend at another date or transfer course to another person.
